IT - Movie Trailer

The internet has been abuzz with ongoing leaks, sneaks, and dubious speculation for months about the upcoming release of the horror movie IT which is based on Stephen King’s novel of the same name. Well, time for contemplation is over with today’s release of the first terrifying new trailer for the film about a group of small town boys who run into a clown named Pennywise whom they suspect may be responsible for the disappearance of townfolk.

Of course, King’s novel was adapted into a TV mini-series back in the early 90’s that starred Tim Curry as the costumed villain and went on to huge cult success. Well, it's now Bill Skarsgård's turn to don the make-up and frilly collar and it looks like this latest iteration is on track to crank up the fright to a whole new level as a strong sense of foreboding gloom permeates the opening scenes of the new trailer. A young boy playing in a rain storm is surprised by Pennywise who pops up from the storm drain.

That’s the stuff of nightmares.

And the ominous mood never lets up throughout as even a child’s balloon cranks up the creep as it floats menacingly through a classroom, all the while a one-finger chord playing beneath the muted color palette. What are you afraid of?

IT is not yet rated, but expect an R rating.

IT is slated to hit theaters this Fall on September 8, 2017.
