This is where the story stops. Or, more accurately, this is where it begins. Max Beyond, from HaZimation,is a hyper realistic animated science fiction adventure in which one child has the ability to reset timelines in order to save himself from the research facility he is being housed in.
Directed and co-written by Hasraf Dulull (Disney’s Fast Layne), Max Beyond is an exciting look at a future that has gone berserk with technology. With Stavros Pamballis (Siege On Liperti) as co-writer, the characters which inhabit this narrative are fully realized, serving as more than caricatures you might find in other, lesser animated films. This bright and colorful film feels very real with intense action sequences and true emotions as Max struggles to find a timeline in which his brother, Leon, a former marine, manages to save him.
But, with each attempt to find the right timeline, Leon dies. It’s an outcome Max is trying to avoid, yet time after time the ending is the same. The animation is slick and detailed, with lots of unique looks to the characters and lots of mind-bending in its story structure.
While brief in its running time, Max Beyond is a tottering thrill ride of raw emotion and pure adrenalin as Max searches parallel timelines in order to secure his release and come out of it with his brother alive. Yet, he doesn’t realize just how far his captures are willing to go to get ahold of his power. Just who here is pulling the strings?! 
The cast includes BAFTA-award winning actor Jane Perry (Cyberpunk 2077, Hitman, Returnal), Dave Fennoy (The Walking Dead) and Cade Tropeano (Black Bird). Motion capture performances from Ace Ruele (Eternals) and Alex Kong (Marvel Studio's What If?).
The film’s executive producers are Yariv Lerner (Rambo - Last Blood, The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard), Amy Gardner (Identicals) and Jason Potter. The music score is by Miroshot, a band known for their experiential music featured in SXSW 2022.
Max Beyond will be available on Digital Download on April 23rd.
